Le Zhang started learning dancing when she was nine years old in Jilin College of the Arts. Le came to Australia in 2007 and only one year later, she joined the Sydney Chinese Dance Group and has now become one of the excellent leading dancers.

As a full time student, Le’s academic achievements could not have been more impressive. Le was awarded Outstanding Academic Achievements six times during her two years study at Concord High School from where she graduated in 2009 as the School DUX. During her three years at the University of Western Sydney studying Bachelor of Translation and Interpreting, Le was on the Dean’s List every year, and graduated with William Chiu Award for Interpreting & Translation and Dean’s Medal for Outstanding Scholarship. In 2010, Le became a NAATI accredited professional translator and member of Golden Key International Honour Society.

After finishing her Master Degree in Media Practice at the University of Sydney, Le started her internship at 2ac Australian Chinese Radio and 2OR Australia Oriental Radio where her horizons of media and arts were broadened. In 2009, Le was appointed by the NSW Department of Education & Communities as International Student Ambassador and has been representing NSW government schools in various functions and events ever since, contributing to the educational communication between Australia and China.

Le believes that she inherits her love of arts from her father who is a calligraphy artist. Dance, as one major form of performing arts, has long been Le’s favourite. Le loves and excels at various types of dancing, including Classical Chinese dance, ballet, folk dance and contemporary. Even though Le suffered from serious waist injury which nearly destroyed her dream of dancing when she was 13 years old, Le has never given up her love and passion towards the art of dance and has now become one of the excellent leading dancers of the Sydney Chinese Dance Group, enjoying her life in Australia as a dancer. “The art of dance is an indispensible part of me. It is the light of my life,” Le once said. Dancer, in Le’s eyes, is the most glorious identity in this world.

Apart from dancing, Le also has great passion in language learning, literature, and Chinese traditional seal engraving. As an excellent dancer of Sydney Chinese Dance Group, Le hopes that she can contribute through her knowledge and skills to the promotion of Chinese culture and art in the amazing multicultural nation of Australia.
